As well as joining the Dionne Warwick & Shirelles UK fan club I write to ‘Record Mirror’ and I’m excited (aged 16) to see my letter published, the beginning of my lifelong ‘mission’ of sharing my passion for soul music which continues to this day! They even print my address (201 Kilburn High Rd) which is where I live with my family, above ‘Crusoe’s’ the fish and chip shop my Dad manages….
One of my favourite tracks of the day is by Dusty Springfield and it’s on an EP which I still have to this day! The song I love is “I Wish I’d Never Loved You” and the lyrics echo throughout my love life for decades!
